it all started off as just an idea scratched onto a cocktail napkin at a dive bar in Berlin…

The Bite has been flipping burgers since 2013. We’re proud to have taken part in shaping the landscape of Zurich’s buzzing neighbourhood around Langstrasse. Our passion for great handmade burgers, crazy ideas and community building is at the forefront of what we do. We carefully source our ingredients locally, each patty is handmade and we provide veggie and vegan alternatives too.
 

When it comes to burgers, we can *proudly* say we’ve done it all: from the dirties melting monsters to hemp seed infused patties and fondue burgers, name it, we have a recipe for it 😉

The Bite is the first restaurant concept from Thomas and Kirtanya von Matt, the husband and wife duo and owners behind Von Matt Hospitality Group (VMHG). VMHG is behind several restaurants primarily located in Zürich, which include Brisket Southern BBQ & Bar (2015), Yardbird Southern Fried Chicken (2017) and LA Brea SoCal Tacos (2019). Their concepts were founded together with Stephan von Matt, Thomas’ brother, who has since moved on to pursue new ventures.
